Light house – Sperlonga

Client: Province of Latina

Year: 2004

Service: Design competition

The project’s aim is to sew the three lots concerned by the competition, through a strong drawing made by a modular, triangular net and the individuation of an organizing principle: the functional mix. The different functions have been spread and meshed on the whole area bypassing the zoning logic.

The intervention considers the rebuilding of five buildings composed of two levels each with even, green, pedestrian roofing. Four buildings host four apartments each, two each level, and a stair. The fifth building hosts eight apartments and two stairs.

Has been chosen the stair as the place of technologic experimentation with the aim to restrict the necessary high technology interventions. The stairs located in the middle of the buildings, host and integrate all the technical elements and the installations aimed at the control of environmental and comfort parameters.
